When contacted by Block Work Design to create a dining table and seating solution for a private residence in Ardmor, Pa. we were asked to maximize seating without visually cluttering the space. The table design was a scaled up iteration of a coffee table prototype we did a while back. So when given the task to create a glass top table the ‘Pillars’ dining table was born. The top’s shape was custom to accommodate the banquette seating as well as the foot traffic through the area.

Entry bench/shoe storage solution design for a foyer make over. The bench surface is made from a carefully selected and highly figured ash slab. The base cubbies were specifically designed to except several pairs of shoes and is made of 3/16” hot rolled steel with a clear powder coat finish.

This dining table was created to fulfill our clients' love for natural wood while at the same time keeping the design clean and modern to match the rest of their interior space. The top was made of three boards milled from one 22ft long slab of American Black Walnut and joined seamlessly to achieve a single slab look. The legs are welded steel burnished to a raw finish. They attach using machine screws that screw into threaded inserts in the bottom of the top. This allows the legs and top to come apart endlessly without compromising their connection over time.
Dimensions: 96.5" x 44" ~ 42" x 29"
This coffee table is the perfect piece if you're looking for something slightly industrial that still utilizes the beauty of nature. The steel legs are my 'Folded' design, angle steel welded to resemble the corrugated steel siding you may see on a factory. Reproductions available slab shape varies.
